For better results use micro-fine grit 1500 first and soapy water. Put in the water whatever you have, dish washer detergent or shampoo. Over the sanding keep the grit wet with the soapy water. After you clean the surface and satisfied with the result then use the toothpaste to smooth the surface than clean. Use white, whitening toothpaste or car wax paste.
